There will soon be watch bundles offered with the Garmin HRM-PRO Plus straps instead of HRM-PRO. Ultimately, these are minor changes, and for the most part this is just considered a running change. Further, they’ve changed the color of the HRM-PRO Plus pod itself. The new HRM-PRO Plus adds an indoor run pace & distance option, while also changing the battery door situation to be tool-less (hopefully reducing straps dying after battery swaps).

Like most Garmin ‘Plus’-enabled things, this is a modest upgrade from their existing high-end chest strap, the HRM-PRO that came out two summers ago. On a side note, another oddity is they seem to consistently charge more for smaller jeans than their larger (same style/color) jeans.Garmin has just released a slightly revamped version of their HRM-PRO chest strap, now the HRM-PRO Plus. Until then, I will look to similar designed jeans like 5.11.
I will not use them, hoping this will extend their life, but when they fail, the surrounding fabric will as well. At this price point, I expect them to last and the rear pocket attachments are a concern. I would easily have given a 5 star except for the rear pocket flaw. They are the best overall that I have found. As such, this will lead to early failure of those attachment points. When material stack-up is too thick for sewing machines, some manufacturers will shave it down to accommodate to the machine's sewing height limits. Not sure why the material is thinner than the rest of the pant material but suspect it is due to their sewing limitations as it seems to be intentional. I purchased anyways hoping that it was a manufacturing error and not design intention. Rear primary pockets have inside flap for securing objects from straying.Ĭons: Rear pocket top attachment points have a thinner material thickness as others have pointed out. The primary pockets with mesh lining, does not snag objects and allows good air circulation. Stitching and rivets at all stress points.Įxtra pockets are a bonus and will accommodate spare mags for range day or a large cellphone (iPhone 13 Pro) easily.
Color remains consistent after several washes. Material is better than average in thickness, without feeling stiff. Great color and material feels more comfortable than comparable jeans. Pros: Fantastic fit and comfort, great range of motion due to design (gusseted inseam) and articulated knees with darts (stitching provided for articulation).
